Brian Blakesley is new MD for Vertex Building Services

16 August 2016

Brian Blakesley has joined Vertex Services Group (www.vertexltd.co.uk) from ENGIE to become Managing Director of its newly created operating division Vertex Building Services. Brian brings a wealth of technical and commercial experience in building services, energy management and business development spanning 30 years.

His appointment is the leading indicator of a major resource investment Vertex is making to grow its building services offering to a new level. Formed in 2005, it is looking to add particularly to its larger customer portfolio base in London and to increasing the ratio of sites supported by resident engineer teams to those served by its mobile units.

Brian joins Vertex from the French-headquartered utility company which now trades as ENGIE (formerly Cofely) where he assumed a director’s role when it acquired his former employer, IGS Services in 1990. Between these businesses he has held directorships for 25 years, eventually overseeing a Cofely client portfolio worth over £100m annual turnover. His prior career progression was from an apprenticeship to roles with Postal Engineering and then Planned Maintenance.

Pat Curran, Vertex Chairman, said: “Brian joins us with a passion to provide large customers with a personalised engineering service; delivering innovation, energy management and value-for-money. His experience and enthusiasm will enable Vertex to develop more effectively in the very competitive London marketplace and enhance our perception as an exceptional service provider with dedicated team members.”
