First class medical records from Railex Projects

28 July 2016

If there was a Degree course for medical storage systems then Railex Projects would certainly gain 1st Class with Honours – with a tangible example being the installation of a new notes storage system in the medical centre created for the students at the University of Bournemouth.

This thoughtful and very practical concept reflects the increasing status and size of this University and the medical facility is housed in a dedicated building on the Talbot campus between Bournemouth and Poole.

Mindful of what is expected by the CQC the actual system installed is the very popular purpose-designed Rollastore mobile filing and storage system from Railex Projects which combines strength and ease of operation with the accessibility and security of patients records.

The interior can be adapted for all manner of contents.

The Practice Manager, Judith Young, had previously installed this system in the nearby Talbot Medical centre and she is very pleased with the latest collaboration with Railex Projects.

“We fitted the new installation during the Christmas holiday so as to minimise inconvenience but is only took just one day anyway. All very smooth and efficient.

"The clever design means that nothing personal is revealed and the contents are as secure and clean as they could be. It takes up much less space than conventional filing whilst allowing for future expansion and reflects the quality of our student services.

"This all represents a sound one off investment and I was very impressed by every aspect of Railex Projects from the initial free consultation and plans through to completion”.

Literally for the record, the Railex Rollastore format consists of storage units alongside each other in bays which simply run along tracks set in to a floor based removeable plinth which is not bolted or permanently fitted.

The sections are easily opened or shut at the turn of smart intuitive handwheels and locked as required.

The actual dimensions here at this location feature 10 bays 2025mm high x 1000mm wide x 400mm deep.

This saves some 50% compared to shelving or filing cabinets. The multiple horizontal shelves accommodate some 7500 individual “Lloyd George” records housed in Railex Projects protective Medifile trays.

The overall Rollastore sits neatly between the back of the reception area and the office. Easy on the eye and reassuring for all concerned.
