Comfort Commissioning has won an award at the recent North Essex Business Awards, the biggest local business event. Directors Lawrence and Andy took staff along to a glitzy ceremony at Braxted Park and were very pleased to be presented with a trophy!

As winners, Comfort received the iconic star shaped commemorative plaque, to proudly display as well as being featured in the Meet the Winners section of the Essex County Standard newspaper.

The award is recognition that Comfort Commissioning is now a well established business providing an excellent service with excellent values.

Andy Green, Director said: “We are delighted that Comfort has been recognised as a successful, growing business. Achievements can only be made with the support of those around you and I am delighted to be working with a fantastic business partner and hard working, passionate staff.”

As award winners, Comfort will automatically be shortlisted for the Countywide Awards which will take place on 2nd December at Crowne Plaza.

This is an opportunity for winners and finalists from their three regional events to meet, head to head in a crème de la crème style contest.

Comfort started in 2004 by Lawrence Reeves and Andy Green from a converted garage office in West Bergholt. With no financial backing and a few old specialist instruments found on eBay, a desire fuelled by frustration of the limitations of being an employee.

They continued for 10 years with 4 engineers. Through quality work and customer service initial jobs were completed, repeat business started to become more regular (96% client retention).

Due to an increasing workload, in April 2014 they rented a small office space and grew to 7 employees. In February 2015 they purchased a bigger office in Colchester and within the last year have taken on another 13 members of staff, there are currently 25 employees including the Directors and 3 apprentices.

In August 2012 Andy and Lawrence recognised a need for a water treatment division.

Historically commissioning and water treatment have always been segregated and outsourced individually, however as a finishing trade takes place after the water treatment and they are very often left to deal with poor workmanship of others.

Combining commissioning services with water treatment was a massive leap forward, a few competitors do this but generally sub-contract one element out, and this is something Comfort will not do.

Full control of engineers is maintained and they are aligned with the company core values. This resulted in them doubling the turnover on projects.

Comfort Commissioning Services Limited prides itself on providing a first class service and it’s obviously working as nearly all of its business comes through recommendations.

Comfort is working with large businesses including Heathrow Airport terminals 2, 3, 4 & 5.

Also 122 Leadenhall Street (Cheese grater), 20 Fenchurch Street (Walkie Talkie), Kings College Hospital and a private residence in London that second in size only to Buckingham Palace. Among a whole range of services, they offer:

•HVAC commissioning & validations
•Water hygiene and quality testing
•Legionella risk assessments
•Closed water system flushing
•Tank cleaning
