Industry consolidation sees latest purchase and release of acquisition targets data

07 June 2016

With mergers and takeovers continuing on a regular basis in the FM sector, the publishing of the most attractive acquisition targets within the contract cleaning and support sector has coincided with the Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) purchase of Integral UK.

Following the reaching of a definitive agreement for JLL to acquire mechanical and electrical property maintenance provider Integral UK, the company states this will make it one of the largest worldwide mobile engineering services providers.

Integral is reported to have more than 1,600 clients across 60,000 locations, according to the JLL website, providing a broad scope of M&E property maintenance including mobile engineering, fire and life safety and critical environment management.

The company states the purchase will strengthen its property maintenance capability across the EMEA region, adding to the more than 4bn sq ft of property currently serviced around the world by JLL.

With regard to the Plimsoll analysis, this looks at the UK's 1,144 largest companies within contract cleaning and and support services.

It says that a combination of cash stock piling, low interest rates and ageing directors has left these businesses open for acquisition.

The ongoing consolidation of the contract cleaning and support services sector is expected to see its return to prosperity, according to the report, with further acquisitions expected on a regular basis in future.

It includes a regional analysis stating which area of the country the most attractive acquisition prospects are located.

Topping the list is the Home Counties region, with 68 prospects in the north and 35 in the southern half of the area.

Next in line is the Thames Valley with 26 prospects, followed by North West/West Wales with 24, Yorkshire with 21 and Scotland with 20 potential acquisitions.

The Plimsoll Acquisition Study on the contract cleaning and support industry costs £500 + VAT.
