Free online 3D tool allows quick and easy configuration of terminal block assemblies

19 May 2016

From Monday 18th April to Tuesday 31st May 2016 there is an added incentive to use WAGO’s online engineering tool to create custom carrier rails.

Receive a free selection case of compact wire connectors and set of operating tools when you design and submit a rail assembly order through the smartDESIGNER program*.

smartDESIGNER is a free web tool that enables users to quickly and safely design custom terminal block carrier rails, drawing on over 12,000 WAGO electrical interconnect and automation components from an interactive catalogue.

Completed designs can be ordered directly from within the program, eliminating the need to spend time searching online or through catalogues for the right products.

Archived designs can be accessed from anywhere in the world, with the product list kept up to date. Custom rails are assembled by the user within a 3D workspace, which can be zoomed and rotated in any direction.

The user’s assembly configuration can be checked for mechanical and electrical accuracy. The program will suggests fault remedies which can be accepted automatically or manually.

When combined with the in-built online tutorials, the program can be learned by operators of varying skill levels. Once designed, the project documentation can be printed, or data can be exported to a CAD system.

Individual markers and marking strips can be configured for easy labelling from the initial design stage through implementation. The program allows users to share projects securely with specified contacts, allowing multiple users to access and edit projects and notes from anywhere in the world.

Projects can be exported in .dxf, .dwg, step and iges formats in both 2D and 3D, suitable for a range of CAD systems including AutoCAD, Pro/E, Solid Works, Unigraphics and Wildfire.

Once satisfied with a configuration, pricing enquiries can be submitted or orders initiated directly to WAGO’s support team from within the program.

Visit www.wago.com to start using smartDESIGNER. Whilst no sign-up is required to use the software, WAGO recommends setting up a free account for the optimum user experience.
