Conference programme announced

Revealing the programme for its Strategic Facilities Management conference, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has highlighted Ungroup chief executive officer (CEO) Philip Ross as one of the many speakers.

Mr Ross will share his views on what the future looks for the FM sector and how individuals can add real value.

Taking place on 14 June in London, the one day event will be chaired by RICS Facilities Management Board chair and ISS managing director Kath Fontana FRICS.

Key themes will include the importance of collaboration between FM and construction, strategic procurement and FM in critical environments.

Among those signed up to speak at the event will be VINCI Facilities commercial director Rory Murphy FRICS, Bellrock CEO Martin Holt FRICS, AlinFM co-founder Chris Hoar, Engie managing director of healthcare & education Sam Hockman FRICS, workplace transformation strategist Bridget Hardy MRICS and BSRIA business manager Jo Harris FRICS.

RICS Commercial Property Professional Group Paul Bagust said: "The conference will explore how strategic FM can drive innovation to help anticipate future client needs."

It will show how to "demonstrate the value of FM leaders and how to collaborate with clients and suppliers" throughout the day, he continued.

Presentations will include focus on the development of artificial intelligence in FM, 'smart' FM and how to create effective workplaces to attract, promote and retain talent.
