USAF infrastructure contract awarded

18 April 2016

A £230m five year contract has been awarded to Interserve to provide facilities services to the United States Air Force UK Estate.

It was awarded by the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) within the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and includes additional works.

Identified as the United States Forces Prime (USFP), it combines four existing facilities support contracts.

It covers the six USAF main bases in the UK and associated satellite sites and will see Interserve deliver a combination of total FM and engineering services maintenance for three operational wings of the USAF.

The contract begins in November this year and is the first time that the USAF estate will be managed by a single provider.

Designed to deliver greater efficiencies, the combining of the previous four contracts will also allow flexibility in accommodating changes in estate requirements and funding, while providing essential support USAF operations and training.

The contract is also the latest evidence of Interserve's long-standing relationship with the DIO.
