Family firm in line for two business awards

28 January 2016

A family firm - which provides specialist cleaning services for the FM industry - is in the running for two top business awards

Perfect Service Solutions, which marks its 10th anniversary next month, has been shortlisted for Best Small Business in the Forth Valley Chamber of the Commerce Awards.

And in a further coup, the company’s managing director and co-founder Simone Hart Sibbald is up for the organisation’s prestigious Entrepreneur of the Year prize after being nominated by her staff.

The announcements were made as the Stirling-based specialist cleaning firm prepares to celebrate its 10th birthday with a party for staff, clients, business mentors and industry colleagues.

Ms Hart Sibbald said: “I am delighted to be shortlisted for the Entrepreneur award especially when there are so many fantastic business people in the Forth Valley area.

“It came as a bit of a surprise as I was put forward by my employees and it’s really quite humbling to be named as a finalist.

She added: “Being nominated for the Small Business Award is a great tribute to the hard work and dedication of our staff and to the credibility of the company. It shows our clients we are worth investing in.

“It’s the first time we’ve entered the awards and it’s extra special to be shortlisted during our anniversary year.”

Three finalists have been selected in each of the nine award categories and will now be quizzed by a judging panel who will select the winners.

Perfect Service Solutions, which provides specialist deep cleaning services and ventilation solutions for the food and facilities management industries, faces competition from Tilly Confectionery and Ecosse Holdings for the Best Small Business trophy.

And Ms Hart Sibbald is up against Stuart Rennie, of SJ Rennie Consulting, and Steven Smith, of The Lead Generation Company, for the Entrepreneur of the Year title.

Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce CEO Michelle McKearnon said: “We are delighted by the response from businesses across Forth Valley and the high standard of entry is reflected in the shortlisted finalists.

“It is going to be very difficult for the judges to pick an overall winner in each category.”

The winners will be announced at an Awards Ceremony in Dunblane on Thursday March 24.
Meanwhile, Perfect Services Solutions marks its 10th birthday on February 15 after being founded by Ms Hart Sibbald and her stepfather Eddie Tierney in 2006.

She said: “We started the business as the global recession hit but we survived and thrived and had our most profitable and successful year so far last year.

“Many employees have been with us for a long time including one engineer who started out as an apprentice nine years ago.

“We felt it was a good time to celebrate and mark that journey with our staff and all those who have supported us over the past ten years.”
