PTSG announces third acquisition in six weeks

12 November 2015

Premier Technical Services Group PLC (PTSG) has continued its pre-Christmas shopping spree with its third acquisition in six weeks, buying a West Midlands electrical safety testing company

The Castleford business, which floated on the stock market in February, has acquired R Langston Jones Ltd. (Langston), a long established and respected electrical company based in Coventry.

Paul Teasdale, chief executive of PTSG, said: “We are delighted to welcome Langston as our latest addition to the group; this acquisition enables us to continue to build the UK’s largest electrical testing business and extend our geographical coverage.

“We are fully committed to the continuation of a successful strategy of achieving market leadership across the sectors in which we operate, and this acquisition increases the exposure of our brand to new and existing clients.

“PTSG Electrical Services Ltd already operates a successful business in electrical testing and the move into the Midlands, expands our geographic coverage and provides additional expertise and knowledge to our existing electrical testing services offering.

“Langston is highly complementary as its offering is biased towards portable appliance testing (PAT), whereas PTSG’s current business is more focused towards electrical installation testing (EIT).

“Langston retains its senior management team which will continue to grow and expand the business which will be integrated into PTSG’s Electrical Services Division. The previous owner of Langston is retiring.

“We wish Langston’s a warm welcome into the group of companies and look forward to working with the team in the future.”
