Biometric technology in FM

28 October 2015

The use of biometric technology in premises and facilities management can be hugely beneficial, ensuring enhanced security measures for your site and controllable access points to know who can gain entry and when.

ievo Ltd is a leading designer and manufacturer of the highest quality biometric readers in the world. Our team of experts have gained their knowledge of biometric deployment, installation and integration by working with industry leaders and gathering feedback from installers and end users to enable ievo to provide an advanced security element to access control systems which is quick, simple and cost effective to implement.

Using fingerprint readers as your biometric solution can save vital time and resources in time and attendance management. With the ability to integrate into the vast majority of access control security systems, biometrics can monitor staff attendance, record working hours and granting access permissions to all staff members.

This system can be integrated to help with payroll processes, ensuring that hours worked are recorded correctly for a smooth transition of payroll management.

Due to the very nature of fingerprints being unique to the individual, the issues of ‘buddy punching’ of cards, fobs and PIN codes for time and attendance recording is removed.

Using advanced/multispectral imaging sensors, the ievo readers gather the data required to create a digital representation of a fingerprint using up to 100 different reference points from both the surface and sub-surface levels of the skin. Once collated, this image is then turned into binary code using a superior award-winning algorithm and stored fully encrypted for peace of mind on the ievo control board. This code cannot be re-engineered and storing it away from the device head adds additional levels of security for your data.

The ievo product range have been designed to seamlessly integrate into existing card and fob systems by utilising the original manufacturers’ controllers through the use of Wiegand inputs, meaning that an existing system can be easily upgraded to an ievo system without the need of full replacement of your existing security system.
