Allianz Park has Olympic track covered for events

23 September 2015

Allianz Park in North West London, home of the Saracens Rugby Club, has chosen carpet tiles from Heckmondwike FB to provide temporary cover for its 2012 Olympic training track, known as the ‘Olympic Bar’

The 80m warm-up track used by Usain Bolt, Mo Farrah, Jessica Ennis-Hill and other top athletes at London 2012 was moved from Stratford’s Olympic stadium and installed at Allianz Park.

This 1100m2 area, which has a capacity for up to 2,000 people, has now been transformed by 575 Expo tiles from Heckmondwike FB’s Dragoon range, which provide a temporary floor cover to enable the extensive space to be used for a wide range of corporate and social events.

Allianz Park chose Heckmondwike’s Expo tiles in an aesthetically pleasing Anthracite grey colourway as they are hardwearing, easy to install and have great aesthetics, as Michael Allan, Events Operations Manager at Allianz Park explains:  “The Dragoon floor tiles look fantastic and we are delighted with how they transform the athletics track into a space which is perfect for any event.  We like the Expo tiles because they are hardwearing and very versatile, so they’ll work well for both corporate and private functions for years to come.”

Heckmondwike FB’s Expo Tiles are designed to transform sports halls, community centres and stadiums, creating perfect venues for exhibitions, concerts and dinners.  These versatile loose lay carpet tiles provide a safe, affordable way of creating a multifunctional space.  Expo Tiles can be laid on top of hard floors to create soft surfaces, adding warmth and comfort to a room. When the event is finished, they can simply be lifted and stored flat until they are next needed.

Sharni Verity, Marketing Manager for Heckmondwike FB, said: “Our Expo Tiles are hugely popular for enabling schools and sporting venues to maximise the usage of large spaces.  They are the ideal choice for Allianz Park because they are extremely robust and retain their aesthetics for many years.”
